I love learning new cultures!

The girls and I went over to Salma's the other night when Mike was out of town. Her oldest daughter was getting married on Saturday night. Well it is not the actual wedding, but it was the ceremony that muslims have prior to the wedding that will be in September.
I love learning about muslims and any other religion, I feel like we basically all want the same thing and so what is the difference. (shake your head if you must)

I loved seeing the Hena that Sabina's cousin was doing on her arm.  I wish that I could have done it on my feet, I just think it is awesome.

Blake and Lily found a friend while we were visiting.. Salma's youngest daughter has a pet mouse for some sort of experiment.  Blake wants it as her own.

The brides family buys the males attire and the grooms family buys the attire for the bride.  I think Sabina is just beautiful.  All of Salma's children are awesome, we just love them all.

Congrats SABINA!!!

Hanging with the Fryar's

I have been on the road so much in the past month that this weekend we just hung around the house. I sure miss doing that with my family.
I can't complain that work is busy, but I miss my Mike and little Lily while I am away.
Lily had a good week. CC and LeeLee came over for dinner and hung out for a while. We used to do this all of the time and it seems we have slacked off on that. We have vowed to keep it going.

Lily thinks her CC is something special. They have a secret relationship. She is always asking for CC, but when he is around she is shy. Well the other night she could not have given him enough kisses. So funny she is. She ran all around the house making sure that everyone had kisses. She did not want to leave anyone out.
These are just some random pics of Lily doing what she does best--- looking cute. She grows and grows everyday. I just wanna slow her down, but she insists. Mike and I just laugh at the things she does and the things she is trying to say. We do know that she can count to six when prompted. You may not understand her completely but that is what she is saying. She for sure knows her 2, 5, 6. She puts her had up says 5 and then waives bye bye.
We couldn't love this little angel anymore.

She has starting wanting to brush her teeth and play in the water so I let her stand there and do what she wants until I can't stand there anymore.

She loves to lay and watch Elmo and read her books. I think she is going to be a vet. She loves to discuss all the different animals out there.
She thinks her daddy is pretty specials. She yells for him all over the house. She has to make sure he is around. The other morning she slept late and daddy was already at work, she crawled in the bed and started looking under the pillows for her dadda. It was wonderful, she then rushed to the shower thinking maybe he was still in there. We all leave the house at the same time in the morning so when daddy is gone it sure throws a wrench in her day.

She is truly the light of our lives. We are so thankful everyday for having her as a part of us.

Girls Gone Wild, ATX Style!!

We had a little girls weekend in Austin and had so much fun. I am not sure the last time I laughed this hard. We did not do much of anything, we just ate and shopped... NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
It was good to see Ashley and Jules and I can't wait to do it again. Maybe next time I wont be pregnant and will be able to make it to a 9pm movie. Until then happy sleeping!

Block Party and Helping Papa!

What a busy weekend we had. Lily was going 90 to nothing each day.
She is now a little artist, she sits in her high chair for hours coloring. She loves it. She also loves to eat the crayons (will this ever stop?)

We had a neighborhood block party on Saturday night. We are trying to get to know our neighbors to help watch out for one another's houses. Jill put out her big slide and before the water was even on it Lily was climbing up it and all over it. She kept her daddy very busy. Thanks Mike!

She spent a good while telling all of the other kids NO NO NO while they were screaming and jumping and having fun. She is a little bossy lady. I guess she gets that from her momma.

Kathryn and Hailey holding up the Hot Dog sign so the neighbors would stop and enjoy.

Daddy had a great night with the neighbors. He ended up staying out way later. So he and Lily snuggled up on Sunday morning and watched Elmo.

Then for the Sunday happenings. Papa came over to install some security lights so I would feel a little safer. Lily loves him. I love it! We don't get to see him that often, but she never ever forgets who he is. With me losing my dad while I was pregnant with Lily I was always worried that she would not know either of her Papa's. But, she has taken to Mike's dad. She ran around all over the house calling for him.

She even tried to help in the garden.

Lily was so worried that Papa had gotten lost. She tried to climb up the ladder to save him a few times. He was all good up there.

Daddy took her on a spin around the house before bed time. This car is the greatest invention. She loves it!

Random Pics and a little catching up!

It has been a long time since I have posted pics on here and updated everyone on our life. We have been really busy. Lily and I have been all over Texas and are just now rested up enough to talk about it.
We went to Amarillo to see Mo for a week and had a great time. We got to see Aunt Weazer and everyone. Lily is getting to be such a big girl and loves to just go and do. I have pics from Amarillo that when I am not so lazy I will post up here. :)
We went to a birthday party at Monkey Bizness and Lily had the time of her life there. She loved the slides and all the bouncy things she could jump around in. She wore Mike out, he chased her all over that place.
We went to Dallas to see my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. She got to swim in their pool and hang out with Mo, she was a huge hit. Her uncle D came to town from Paris and finally got a chance to get to know that angel that I call my daughter. She wasn't sure what to do with him at first, but they worked that out and she really liked him.

Mo bought Lily her own car. Every 19 month old should have her own car. Daddy put the car together and it then fell right apart.. no fault of daddy's though. Uncle D and I took it back and begged to just get the display so we did not have to go through the putting together process again, they agreed and she has a shiny new flintstone buggy. Oh and did I mention that uncle D got her a longhorn emblem for the back, now she is ready.
I wish I had great pics from 4th of July, but we don't. Poor little baby got to wear her dress for only a minute. She was a sick baby. She ran a fever all day long and was not able to share in the festivities.

We went in for her 18 month check-up (a little late, we are 20 months soon). And we found out not so great news there. Lily had another ear infection, although it was just a slight infection it was still an infection. We also found out that we could possibly have asthma :( So home with a breathing treatment we went. She had to do that for 3 days and then we now do it when she has a coughing attack. We are still unsure of asthma, Dr. Brack said time will tell. So this news is not great. Mike is taking Lils in for her tube checkup on Weds and will find out what the next step is for her little ears. Poor little baby, they have to get this right!!
All in all things are going great. We are loving her more and more everyday. She is so fun to be around and does such funny things.
A few things she does now:
-says poopoo (when she goes)
-says NO (alot)
-says shoes
-she really says a lot of single words, we are actually able to communicate some
-pretty much knows her animals and their sounds
-knows where her body parts are
-knows where your body parts are
-The best one is she KISSES back-- this is so awesome. Although I am very picky that she only kisses her mommy and daddy. I am not big on mouth kissing of other people.
Those are just a few of the amazing things that our little baby is doing.

We are off to Denver this week for a mommy and daddy trip away. We will miss Lily, but I know she will have fun and is in good hands. I promise to get better at my updating the blog. Give a girl some slack.. please!!!

XOXOXO
